Description
It was gonna be done sooner or later 
(April 27th, 2017) "NWR No. 10 "Douglas" en-route to Arlesburgh West with a rake of empty ballast hoppers. The hoppers will be loaded with mine waste rich with lead,brought to Arlesburgh from the old mines in the hills, courtesy of the Miniature Railway, where it will be taken by the NWR to a processing facility at Killdane, where the mine waste will be turned into specialized weed-killing ballast for the railway. This method has met severe criticism from environmentalists for the past decades, but the railway has assured Parliament that they handle the lead-rich ballast with special care so as not to poison the environment. Besides, isn't a full-working modern railway line operated by mostly antiquated steam-powered locomotives and decades-old rolling stock environmentally hazardous enough, and yet no one can be bothered to give a toss about that? Seriously!"
