SKR No. 2 'Rheneas' by Nictrain123 SKR No. 2 'Rheneas' by Nictrain123
In 1866, Rheneas (along with his brother Dolgoch, and his cousin Skarloey) was built at the Lowca Engineering Works in Whitehaven, England for the newly-formed Skarloey Railway. Originally built without a cab, Rheneas was given one around 1869 at the workshops at Crovan's Gate. Rheneas wasn't used as much Skarloey was, so this helped him to take over the line from Skarloey after he was worn out and retired around 1932. Rheneas ran the line single-handedly until 1951 when two ex-Mid Sodor engines were purchased from Peel Godred and Rheneas was sent to England for a well needed overhaul. He did not return to Sodor until 1962. After a small overhaul at the NWR workshops at Crovan's Gate in 2002, he has proven himself to be as strong as ever before.

Credit goes to No1ThomasFan for his contribution of plans of 1865 Dolgoch, that helped to make these sprites.

EDIT: Received a long-needed update on the shape and livery to make it more accurate to the original and to the RWS interpretation.

DISCLAIMER:

I don't own Thomas (only the sprites). It is owned by the Awdry Family and Mattell.
