SKR No. 8 (MSR No. 1) 'Duke' by Nictrain123 SKR No. 8 (MSR No. 1) 'Duke' by Nictrain123
Built in 1879 by Boston Lodge Works of Porthmadog using old parts from a previous engine, Duke was the No. 1 engine of the Mid-Sodor Railway and named after the Duke of Sodor. He has seen many refits done to him in 1887, 1901, 1921, 1969, and 1987, but he is the still the same engine that he was built as. Kind and wise, he'll pull any load he's given whether it be a slate train, goods or passenger, he'll make sure he gets it done even if he feels poorly. He has served many long years with the Mid-Sodor Railway and the Skarloey Railway, and let's hope he keeps running for more to come!

EDIT: Received a long-needed update on the shape and livery to make it more accurate to the original and to the RWS interpretation. Also comes with a bonus 'what if' new shape if Duke was sent to Boston Lodge in 1987 to be repaired.

DISCLAIMER:
Sprites (C) Zexion/Nictrain123

I don't own Thomas (only the sprites). It is owned by the Awdry Family and Mattell.

I see you gave Duke buffers. I think a George England tender engine would look better with buffers.

I likey the last one very much! The SKR really should have given him buffers to match all the other stock.

Yeah, I thought he might have to have it to fit with the standards of today's railway safety regulations.
